What are your Rates?
$140 (incl GST) for a 60 minute treatment
$175 (incl GST) for a 75 minute treatment
$210 (incl GST) for a 90 minute treatment
*please note that I currently only offer 60 minute sessions through online booking at Intent Health. If you are interested in a longer session at that location please contact me.
What are your Cancellation Policies?
At Intent Health Clinic I require 24 hours notice for cancelled appointments. At the Duncan building, I require 48 hours notice. Please book and cancel your sessions through the online booking sites linked to in the LOCATIONS section of my website. If you miss an appointment or cancel with less notice than required at each space, you will be charged the full fee for the session. This policy is typical for many massage therapists and helps to ensure a certain level of financial stability, allowing me to continue to do the job I love in a sustainable way. If you are sick please contact me and do not come to the clinic. Late cancellation due to illness will be charged $35 if I am not able to fill the space.
How do I see when you are available?
Go to the online booking site linked to in the LOCATIONS section of my website. Intent Health Clinic and the Duncan Studio have separate logins and sites. Both locations currently display my availability one month in advance.
Do you work with ICBC or WorkSafe BC?
No.
Do you offer direct billing to insurance companies?
Yes, I offer direct billing for RMT services. Please note, I cannot tell you in advance how much you will be covered for and it is your responsibility to manage your coverage. You will be expected to pay the balance if your company does not provide the full fee of your session. If the insurance company does not accept direct billing or if you prefer to pay, you will be charged for the session and issued a receipt to submit to your company. Here is a list of insurance providers I work with:
Claim Secure, Coughlin, Cowan, D.A. Townley, Desjardins, Empire Life, Equitable Life, First Canadian, Greenshield Canada, Canada Life,, GroupHEALTH, GroupSource, GMS, Industrial Alliance, Johnson Group Inc., Johnson Inc., Manulife, Maximum Benefit Insurance, Medavie Blue Cross, Pacific Blue Cross, Sunlife
Why do I need to enter my credit card information to book a session with you?
Credit card information is encrypted and is used to take payments through Janeapp, the clinic software. Having a credit card on file also allows me to charge for missed appointments. If, when you come to see me for treatment, you do not want to use your credit card to pay for your session you may use debit, exact cash or e-transfer instead.
Why have you done so much education in somatic work and trauma?
As a trauma survivor, I was disappointed to find that my foundational RMT education did not provide adequate information or training on the prevalence of trauma and the lasting impact it can have on a person’s ability to: feel safe in their body, voice their needs to practitioners, and feel worthy of care. I am committed to continuing to learn about how to better support people in a way that is trauma-informed and trauma responsive. This includes doing my own work to heal as well and continuing to seek diverse education and experience as I humbly learn to create relative safety within my scope of practice and within our therapeutic alliance.
